OVERVIEW

The Brief was to design a tracking app commited to fill a need in the wellness industry. Mental health is a current issue that greatly affects people's daily lives. Stress sometimes affects in a very silent way, and it is difficult to manage.

Research

PROBLEM STATEMENT

We started to establish the problem to be solved.

HYPOTHESIS STATEMENT

From the problem, we determine the hypothesis statement to define our goal.

USER PERSONA

With the results of the survey and interviews , we were able to define two types of user personas: on the go personas like Joelle who require a quick activity to relieve stress, and structured personas like Sophie who require small stress relieving times on a regular basis.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

We did an exhaustive analysis of several apps, and we realized that not all of them offered the three features that we could identify as important for our app, so we established them to continue with the next step.

FIRST SKETCHES

Based on what we observed from the competitive analysis and the previous research we were able to start defining the features that we integrated into the app.

USABILITY TESTING

We transfer the selected ideas from the paper to a Lo to Mid-Fi wireframe for testing, having already a general idea of how the user flow would be, which after the test results we define it.

USER FLOW

Creating a user flow organizes the path of the user and help us to have clarity of the steps and screens needed to accomplish an specific goal.

MOODBOARD

After having defined our Mid-Fi, we started to work on the visual style of Lacuna, with the moodboard that we created to highlight our brand attributes which were: calmness, balance, space, transition - (cool to warm feelings or moods), engaging. The colors are from nature, sunsets, and scenes with little defined sky and overlapping views.

STYLE TILE

We defined a Style tile to implement into the Hi-Fi prototype. We tested the prototype several times, not only for its functionality but also for its look & feel of the app. The result said that the style matched the Lacuna app brand attributes. The color of the mood tracker received some feedback about the corresponding cool or warm emotion.

HI FI PROTOTYPE

This is the final prototype in action, the whole process of designing and prototyping was done in Figma.

Key learnings

· It’s relevant to build small interactions between the app and the user.
· Give the product a friendly language to make the product attractive.
· Something to improve for the nexts iterations should be generate progress reports that motivate the user to track performance.
